laerdal little anne stackable update

The Laerdal Little Anne Stackable has been upgraded. Several components have been redesigned to make the CPR manikin more durable, easier to use and easier to stack. Protection during transport has also been improved.

What exactly are the differences between the old and new versions? Here is an overview of the main changes.

A redesigned head for an easier chin lift

The back of the head has been made flatter. This makes it easier to position the head correctly during training to open the airway, helping learners practise a correct chin lift.

The oral cavity also provides a better seal, and the connection for the mouth connector has been modified. The redesigned head shell is compatible with all versions of the Little Anne Stackable.

The following parts are available:

  • 135-34050: Little Anne light head shell, complete with jaw and mouth connector
  • 135-35050: Little Anne dark head shell, complete with jaw and mouth connector

Round mouth connector with an improved seal

The new Little Anne has a round mouth connector. This provides a better seal when practising rescue breaths. The click-in system makes the connector easy to fit.

Make sure you select the correct version:

  • The oval mouth connector is designed for version 1.
  • The round mouth connector can only be used with version 2.
  • New parts for version 2 are marked with the number ‘2’.

The available mouth connectors are:

  • 135-32050: Little Anne oval mouth connector, version 1, pack of 6
  • 135-36050: Little Anne round mouth connector, version 2, pack of 6

New face skins are supplied with both mouth connectors, allowing them to be used with either version 1 or version 2.

Thicker and more durable chest skin

The Little Anne chest skin has also been updated. The thicker material makes the skin more resistant to intensive use during CPR training.

The new chest skin:

  • Is suitable for version 1 and version 2.
  • Is marked with the number ‘2’.
  • Has a longer expected service life thanks to the thicker material.

The old version 1 chest skin does not fit the new version 2 torso. Always check which version you are using when ordering a replacement chest skin.

The following variants are available:

  • 135-22050: Little Anne light chest skin
  • 135-21050: Little Anne dark chest skin

A stronger torso with protection against excessive compression depth

The torso has been modified in several ways. New contact points allow the CPR manikins to be stacked more securely. Old and new manikins can still be stacked together.

A new stop block also helps prevent the chest from being compressed excessively deeply. In version 2, this stop block replaces the cords used in version 1.

The following components have also been improved:

  • The sliding surface of the leaf spring is more durable.
  • The leaf spring clicks into place.
  • The rubber feet are stronger.
  • The contact points provide more stable stacking.

A shorter replacement cord with a metal clip remains available for version 1. The clip keeps the cord securely in place. This cord is not used in version 2.

  • 135-28050: Little Anne cord and clip, pack of 6

Updated transport case for six CPR manikins

The transport case has also been redesigned. The interior now has a felt lining with integrated head supports, providing better protection for the CPR manikins during storage and transport.

The case also features larger, removable wheels, making it easier to move a complete set of six CPR manikins.

Old and new Little Anne manikins can be stacked together in the updated case.

Using version 1 and version 2 together

Yes, version 1 and version 2 of the Little Anne Stackable can be stacked together and stored in the same updated transport case. Several of the redesigned components are also suitable for both versions.

However, not all parts are interchangeable. Pay particular attention to the following differences:

Part Compatibility
Updated head Suitable for all versions
Round mouth connector Only suitable for version 2
New face skin Suitable for versions 1 and 2
New chest skin Suitable for versions 1 and 2
Old chest skin Not suitable for the new torso
Cord and clip Only applicable to version 1
Updated case Suitable for old and new manikins

Benefits of the improvements for CPR training

The updated Little Anne Stackable remains designed for efficient training with multiple participants. The improvements mainly provide:

  • An easier chin lift.
  • A better seal during rescue breaths.
  • Greater durability during intensive use.
  • Better protection against excessively deep compressions.
  • More stable stacking and easier transport.
  • The option to combine old and new manikins in a single training set.
