What do defibrillator pads do?

Defibrillator pads analyse the heart rhythm and deliver the life-saving shock if required. The adhesive pads attach to the patient’s chest and connect directly to the AED.

Correct placement of defibrillator pads

For adults:

1. Place one pad on the upper right chest, below the collarbone.
2. Place the second pad on the left side, below the armpit at rib level.
